As most people are experiencing, I've also been prey to the gap between the H1 kicking in and the OPT expiring. However, I've enrolled in a college and I have an I-20 issued to me. My question now is that if I do not attend the college (starting October 5th) and the I-20 is cancelled at that date...does that mean I was out of status from the start of the I-20 (August 20th) or just at the date that it was cancelled? I've got the approval for the H1 though so I'm trying to understand if I have to attend college or I can just start working come October 1st. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
