I-181 question: case approved or not?

I am confused here again. My I-485 was approved after an interview in the local office. The approval letter said I could either go to local office to get stamped or wait for GC to arrive. Now, after couple weeks, I received a notice of action, Case type I-181 ( creation of record of lawful permanent residence), but in the form, it says:

Your application for permanent resident status is being processed. If approved, a permanent resident card will be mailed directly to you from our immigration card facility, if you don't hear from us within 30 days, please call customer service.

This letter was from INS service center, not from local INS office. I am confused because it says my application is still in process, not approved. But I-485 has been approved a while ago. Could any guru help me out? What does this letter indicate? Thanks a million.

When I got an I-181 in the mail after my successful EB interview at the local office, it essentially meant my card was on its way in another week or so. You can use the case number on the I-181 to track whether they have created/mailed a card for you already. That's how I knew my card was sent, since after the interview, my I-485 case status is never updated again online. You can see my timeline in my signature.

on line case status showed it's approved

Thanks, CuriousGeorge: I just checked the online case status, it says it's been approved and card has been ordered, Thanks for your help.
