I-1485 approval

Hi,

I am waiting for my I-1485 approval. When I looked at http://www.murthy.com/visadate.html, I saw EB2/India processing date is 08 JAN 03 and When I look at https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=NSC, I saw processing date as 10 Aug 2006.

I am confused which dates to follow. Does anyone know what is the exact date which USCIS process the 485 applications, Is it VISA dates or Service Center dates.

Please let me know if anyone has ideas how the 485 processing dates work and when can I expect my 485 approval?


EB2. India.
Prority Date: Jan 2002. (Labor substitution)
140 Applied : Jun, 2006.
140 Approval: Jan, 2007.
485 Applied : Jun, 2006 (No Last Update Date yet)

"08 JAN 03" => Anyone whose priority date (aka LC date) is BEFORE this date (EB2/India) can file for 485. (ur Priority date is Jan 2002)
"10 Aug 2006" => USCIS is currently processing 485 applications which were received on/BEFORE this date (ur 485 was received in June 2005 ..as per ur signature).

No timewindow on how long before u receive ur approval..but atleast u are eligible to file 485 (and have done so :)

Main beast is FBI Namecheck . USCIS dates get current in a very transparent manner....so you will have fun tracking them initially..but once they become current...then there is a unadvertised feature or blackhole called " FBI Name Check" and only God can help you in that.
 
I called FBI today to check on my FP status. They said that the FP was processed on 11/18/2006 and sent back to USCIS on 11/19/2006. My question is "Does this mean I clear the name check?"

Joelly,

It means that FP results were complete. Name check is done as a separate process apart from FP check. If you call or do an InfoPass, the officer can give you the status of your name check.
