I-140 Validity And Cp Processing

Dear All,

I applied I-140 under EB1 (outstanding reseracher/professor) category and got approved. My question is how long is approved I-140 valid? Can someone working for the same company (where I-140) was approved, apply later? My spouse is in I-485 stage and I am a derivative, so I was thinking to wait the outcome.
Someone gave me the idea to do Consular Processing (CP) and that will not hamper or delay the current I-485 processing with my spouse. Could someone please enlighten as to the steps and forms required to do a CP processing.

Hi,

Check the CP forum, you might get more information there. Basically, you have to indicate on your I-140 if you prefer CP or AOS.

If you have indicated AOS on your I-140, its more complicated to get into the CP process - check immihelp.com for more info.
