Hi there,

My I-140 form has a receipt date on May-12-2003. It has been over a year.My lawyer has put in two requests through INS. But, nothing has happened. Can anyone out there offer any help? Thanks a lot,

Thanks for your reply. I have received my AP and EAD. In fact my AP renewal has been approved on July 2,2004. It was submitted on May 3,2004. It is Nebraska center. Thanks,

what about finger printing? did you finish your finger prints? I hered that who ever's I-140 got delayed, they are getting I40 and I-485 approved together. I am also one of the victim, waiting for I-140 results. My case is little more stressful, I was laid off, about 4 month after applying my GC. I am working using my EAD, I am done with my 6 year term for my h1. To apply extension, I was working using EAD. So I hered that, I am not able to get H1 extension, since I am working using EAD. so if something happend, I need to sell my house and go back to India.

Yes FP was done in September 03. Good luck with your 140 renewals; if your 140 is pending you should be able to apply for EAD renewal irrespective of your job status.

My case is worse. The I-140 RD is January, 2003. I have not received any thing yet from Nebraska service center even for my AP. The senator office contaced the INS and the answer was " My case is in Security checking " Should I give up and go back home ??

Same

My I-140 case has been pending for a year now. It is also in Security check for a year now. Who knows, those security check can take a few hours or a few decades. If it take a few years, it will be hard to keep the job for such a long time in this tough market.

I think before I-140 does not need security check. Only I-485 stage needs those security check. Now with the concurrent processing, things are screwed up even more.

Applying for I-140 for my dad

Ok..i know the drill on becoming a citizen but how do i go about filing for my dad?
i know i have to fill out the I-140 petition...My questions are.
1. How much does it cost to file.
2. Does my dad have to be in the US to have the papers filed?
3. How long does it take for him to get his green card?
And last, Can i file for my brother and sister along with my dad.i heard that i file for my brother and sister,It will take 16 yrs for them to get their green card....Is it true?
It is ridiculous to think you would have to wait for such a long time..so then how long does my dad have to wait?
Can someone aswer my questions,please...
The immigration process in this country is so stupid...and outdated....
Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help me out,Thanks

1. Check at http://www.uscis.gov for latest costs related for filing.
2. Your dad dont have to be here. You can choose CP if you want to.
3. It would be atlest 5-7 years wait for India.
You can apply for your parents if you have GC only. If you want to file for your brother, you can do it only after getting citizenship. And yes, it would take 16 years or so to get GC for your brother. The best course is to start with your dad's GC and if your dad then later applies for your brother, it would be much faster route.

You need to fill out I-130 for your dad and brother.

CP means consular processing. This is faster route than the I-485 which backlog pile. The CIS is in a mission big pile so that they can sleep on it.
