I-140 Security Check

Hi,

I heard that we will have some type of Mandatory Security Check / Background Check during I-140. ( Like FBI, Etc.,) Is that mandatory or they will pick any one case for quality assurance purpose.

If they do, what will be the nature of the check? Do we have to provide any thing for that purpose.
