Hi, I filed a NIW at TSC and am anxiously waiting. As suggested by some other places, I tried a variety of receipt numbers for I-140 and obtained the following results:
RD status date
2/13/03 Appr.
2/13 ?
2/13 Appr.
3/31 ?
5/28 A
7/9 ?
7/11 A
7/14 ?
7/15 A
7/15 ?
7/22 ?
7/23 ?
7/29 RFE
8/4 A
8/4 A
8/4 ?
8/12 A 12/10/03
8/12 ?

I am confused:
1. Why some earlier cases have not been dealt with?
2. I know some cases are in the same category (NIW), but later dates have been taken care of while earlier dates are still waiting, why?
3. Any idea how TSC process these cases?
4. Do I need employment letter for I-485 if I want to file cocurrently with my NIW petition.
Thanks,
Blueblack

You can find a full picture of underlying process trend on www.immigrationwatch.com. It's very informative.

4.
For NIW which is non-employement based, the petitioner is yourself rather than your employer. You don't need employement letter for your I485 petition if your NIW get approved. But in the I140-NIW stage, an employment latter or a recommendation letter from your employer is a strong booster for your NIW to be approved.

This is not accurate. NIW *is* employment based. The underlying petition is based on the work you do as opposed to who you are related to, as in family-based petitions.

Thanks, very helpful

Thank you, the immigration watch site is very informative for me. It seems there is still a long time to wait! Some people say the officers have a glance at every case and process the cases which highest merits immediately while let the "average" case pile up. Is it true? Wish you a happy new year!
