I 140 Receipt & I485

Hi,

1> How much times takes to get receipt once we send documents for I 140.
2> Can I file I 485 , If my wife is pregnant.

It took a little more than 4 weeks for me to get EAC for I-140 from VSC. You can call INS after 30 calendar days if you do not get the EAC by then.

re 1: between 3-8 weeks..

re 2: Yes, the baby does not need to go through GC process.

I am still waiting for receipt...

I am still waiting for my receipt...I filed my I-140 six months back...my checks were cashed and EAC number is written on the back of the checks cashed.

When I check the status online with the EAC number, it says "Receipt number is not found......."

I think there is one other person in this forum who has similar case like me.

I spoke to BCIS people, my lawyer spoke to BCIS people couple of times..they took all my information..but still no luck...
