I-140 Receipt date

Does any one know how long it takes to enter into the system once you send the I-140 to Vermount service center. Is the receipt date same as the date they enter it into the system. Does any one know how long its taking to get the receipt. My lawer mailed the package on oct 10th and INS got it on 11th. Any idea when I can expect the receipt date.

It depends

Some one, sent his I-140 in 12/2000, still waiting, while other one got the approval for his I-140 filed in 08/29/2001. Normally, you should wait for two months more, before you might wait for six months.
