My I-140 has just been approved at the VSC. I originally indicated that I wanted to take the CP route, rather than AOS.
The trouble is that my H1-B visa expires in October. I understand that when my visa expires I must leave the country. I presume that I can leave the country and wait until my interview date, but I really would like to avoid having to leave the US for any extended period. I know that it will be safer for me to take the AOS route, but I really want to avoid that drawn out process if possible.
I would like to file for an extension on my H1-B, but I will have used my 6 years up. My LCA was filed last Novemeber, i.e.
