I-140 issue

My GC is filed through employment. I filed my I-140 and I-485 in Jan 2005. My I-140 got approved in Apr 2005. I received my EAD, AP and did my fingerprinting.

Last week the status on my I-140 changed to

"On November 2, 2005 the appropriate American Consulate or port of entry was notified by cable, telephone, or fax of the approval of this case."

I did not opt for Consular processing (mine is AOS) so why did they send it to Consulate. I have no clue.
Does anyone has any insight on the process or why this would be sent to American Consulate?

EB3
LC May 2001 (Substitution)
I-140 RD: 01/04/05
AD: 04/12/05
I-485 RD: 01/04/05
EAD: 02/12/2005
AP: 02/12/2005
FP: 04/08/2005

I-485 status still says "...Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received.......it is taking..."

Is it possible that this same labor was used for another employee whose I-140 was approved before you and he has opted for consular processing? Just a thought.

You are right to infer this..but less likely they would do that...because it is a risk for them as well. Anyways, thanks for the response.
