Hi All,
My I-140 is approved last week (RD: Mar/11/2003, AD: Aug/31st/2004), and my I-485 is still pending (RD: Apr/25/2003; FP: Jun/12/2003), I got my EAD card already.
Today I was informed that my last day is this Friday, that means, I have to start to look for job using EAD. (I am using my H-1 now)
So, am I safe to look for other job to a new company? (Actually, I have no other choice, since this Friday is my last day), if it's safe, anything I need to be careful in order to get my GreenCard eventually?

Really need you guys' advice, greatly appreciate!

1. H-1B transfer is better than EAD.

2. New job must be similar to the old job (check job detail in your LC).

3. If possible and didn't spend your money, try start a new LC in your new company. This is just a backup.

Check more info in AC21 (I485 thread).

you are Ok !!!

Since your 140 is approved and 485 is pending for more than 6 months, you will eventually get the GC even if you have to go through MOTR and appeal. Do you think that your company will revoke the approved 140 ? It may give you some tense moments but eventually you will prevail so don't worry and look for a job in similar field.

As blackbird says, h1 is a better option than EAD till you get the GC in your hand.

Thanks a lot for you guys.
I know H-1 is better than EAD, but if I need other company to sponsor my H-1 , then the chance of getting the job will be eliminated a lot, lots of companies now on market are unlikely to sponsor H-1, and by using EAD, should be easier to get a job.
And, I just do the worst plan for my current company in case of revoking my approved I-140, hoping they don't do that. (Since I have a not-bad-not-good relationship with my current company, in general speaking, they won't revoke my case, right?)
