Hi,
The instructions for the filing fees for the i-140 and i-485 mention check/money order. Just so I'm clear, that would mean personal checks, correct? Not necessarily a banker's check.
Typically, I've become used to getting a banker's check/money order, so when I see their note that the amount will be deducted from the account after a day or so, I suppose a personal check is what they're talking about?
Thanks.

I had sent personal check for my I-140 filing. It was fine. Good thing is that you get a reference number from backside of the check once the check is deposited to your bank. Usually banks provide access to the image of the cleared check.

It is specifically mentioned that they will use the details in the personal checks that you send for a EFT(electronic Fund Transfer) from your account and they will destroy your check, but they do maintain a copy of your check for future reference.

So, I too read that line couple of times to check if the term "check" meant banker's check or any other check. So you should be fine.

Thanks for the comments.
It's certainly more convenient to be able to send personal checks than to make a visit to the local bank for it all.
