I-140 from Nov03 not approved yet

Hi,
I semi-concurrently filed 140/485. 140 in Nov '03 and 485 in Jan '04. I haven't heard anything from them yet. LUD is not updated. It still shows Jan '04 for both 140 and 485.
Can I myself contact the service center ? If so, can somebody please give me their contact info ?
If I ask my lawyer to do this, he is saying that he'll charge me by the hour. And it is very expensive.

If there is anyother option for me, also please tell me.

Hi,

Your attorney must send a letter asking for an update based on the current process date. I wonder why he wants to charge by hour esp if you filed thro him.

or your employer can call or mail asking for an update. USCIS does not take calls from the employees.
 
I'm in the same boat, My lawyer last week sent an Case Status inquiry to INS , but curios to know what info they would provide or will this trigger atleast looking at the application.

Iam in the same boat.I-140 pending from oct 2003.First time when i called USCIS they asked my employer or lawyer to call.But i tried calling in between a couple of times.once i got a rep who did not even ask if i was an employer or an attorney and initiated a second enquiry for me.Iam yet to hear from them.hoping and praying it would get approved.There is no harm in calling USCIS,sometimes you will get a freindly rep.

I am also in the same situation. My lawyer has initiated first status inquiry on 12/16/04. No updates yet. Attorney wants me to wait for 5 weeks total before we can make another query.... :mad:

no changes after inquiries

I asked my employer to call. They sent a letter that "my application was filed on 8/28/2003 and we are now processing cases filed on or around 2/23/2004". No mentioning why they skipped my case and process newer ones.

Congressman contacting INS didn't change this either. LUD didn't change in any inquiry.
 
My I-140 has been pending since Oct 21st 2003 as well. LUD was 10/24/2003. USCIS had sent a referral to TSC and I got a letter last week stating that my file was received on 10/21/2003 and they were currently processing 04/15/2004 cases. They would let me know if there are any changes or if they have additional questions.

Concurrent I-140 & I-485
ND 10/21/2003
LUD 10/24/2003 for I-140 and 10/1/2004 for I-485 (FP)
 
My I-140 just got approved after a long wait. I think Case Status enquiry might have triggered the approval.

I would like all others in the same boat, to try puting in a Case Status Enquiry, just a try.
