I am from Switzerland and currently in process of apllying for I-140 and I-485. Labor cert. was approved and I think we are filing for EB2 or EB3, my lawyer is trying to figure it out. ( probaly EB3).

I am aware of the fact that there is a long wait list, but does it make any difference from what country you are applying from ( citizenship), beside the ones listed already separate in the VISA Bulletin.

I mean since Switzerland probaly does not have a huge number of Immigrants, does it make a difference or not?

Thanks for any tips or info regarding this matter

You will be fine....

There is no waiting period for EB-2. EB-3 is slow. Check out the visa dates in google.

It's all relative...

Even though ROW (Rest of World) Priority Dates (original labor filing date) is better than a few countries PDs, currently it seems even ROW (and Switzerland will fall in ROW) is not moving that fast.

Refer to
http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3169.html
for most current numbers. ROW EB-3 seems to be stuck around August 02 but still about a year ahead of some other countries. If you are not from India, China, Mexico and Phillipines, it does not matter what country you are from; you are grouped together in ROW.

EB-2's are definitely better than EB-3 for ROW but harder to justify and get approved. If you can prove a solid case for EB-2, you should go for it.

Good luck!

You've misunderstood the concept.
1. It doesn't matter what your citizenship is. Only, the country of birth matters
2. It doesn't matter how many people from your country of birth get GCs, unless you're from one of oversubscribed countries.

So, the bottom line is simple and straightforward. As guys have already told you, Switzerland (if it's your country of birth) falls into Rest of the World (ROW). There is deep retrogression on ROW EB3, but ROW EB2 is current.
