The same thing happened in my wife's case, a wrong date on H1-B.
IMHO, you could apply for 140 and address the date issue at H1 extension.
The reasoning is you have not gone past a valid date and don't intend to.
- Most on this forum say, not a lawyer just some thoughts shared.
