I am gathering my documents to apply for I-140.
I have been working at my current job for 5 years.
My labor app. got cleared recently under EB3 category.

My job position requires 1 year experience in c, c++ or in leiu of experience a Master's Degree would be accepted. This was the exact description on the Labor Application.
When I joined my company I had a Master's degree in Computer Science.
But since I had some work experience before I joined my company:
1 - In a software firm for 3 months as an Intern.
2 - In the physics department at my school as a TA. I worked on a web-site and did some computer related stuff.
I put this experience on my resume when I was looking for a job 5 years ago.

When my attorney filed for my Labor, he included these two on the application.

Now my labor is approved. And I was asked to provide experience letters from my previous employers verifying my claims on my resume/labor cert.

I was able to get a letter from the software firm detailing my experience and it matches the labor application description.

But the issue is with my second experience from the university.

The letter does not specifially say anything that matches with the Labor application description.

The Labor says : "Helped Maintain the web site for a physics course and helped the department with certain computer related issues."

The letter says "He is proficient in basic computer skills and programming languages. Proficient in electoric record filing."

Could this be an issue? Or should it not be a major concert as my job position really does not require any experience as I already had a Master's Degree.

The Master's degree by itself qualifies me for the job.
The current situation arises because my attorney included the experience i had written in my resume on the labor application.

Kindly post your comments and suggestions.
I waited 4 years for my labor certification. I finally got it and am currently facing this issue.

It is quite a concern for me!!

Thanks in advance!!!

i am not able to see any difference in what you wrote previously and what you get in the letter from university. I think it means the same..but just wait for others with more experience to comment from the post.

I have explained my case in detail here.
Note that i have mentioned that my job DID NOT require any prior experience as I had a Masters degree. But my attorney put this experience anyway on the labor cert. And regarding my employment at the Physics dept which is the issue here, I only worked part-time 20hrs per week for 1 semester, So I was under the impression that this a trivial part of my application.

Thanks for your comments.

Exp. Letters - EB3; BS +2 Years

Hi,

I have a Masters degree in Engineering (from india) and have 7 yrs experience (5yrs US + 2 yrs India) before joining my current company.
Unfortunately my case is applied for EB3, BS +2 Years. I was under job pressure at that time and couldn't do much research and just assumed that my app will be in EB2.

In my ETA, I showed 3 yrs experience under 3 employers.

-- Can I use the experiance letters issued at that time (2001,2002,2003)? Ofcourse the job description and skill set matches. Or should I get the latest experiance letters? What if the person who gave the letter is already quit the employer?
--What if the company is out of business and couldn't reach anyone in the company with the address shown in experiance letter?

Thanks
