Yes, I know that it goes to my attorney. I did come across some posts here that it takes nearly 1 to 2 weeks from the time you online status changes to "Approval notice sent" to the time the actual notice is received. I am not sure if that is ture and that is what I was trying to clarify. Thanks for your input though.
Jaya,
Thank you. My credentials are not as good as some of you here. But I think my attorney did a great job of presenting and organizing the documents
I have a PhD in Chemical Engg. from US. I work for a fortune 500 company with a history of research documented (I mean they work with the government, national labs., universities etc.)
My credentials:
4 Journal Publications
9 Conference proceedings paper
2 research proposals one is getting funded at NSF
contributed a book chapter to a book that my advisor is currently working on. It is not published yet.
6 recommendation letters..one international
Reviewer for couple of journals
Not many citations (Around 15 )
Not any major awards. (I was nominated for couple but did not will any)
Membership in two professional associations. One of which a panel assings you the membership grade based on voting (which is based on your research credentials). I stressed this out on my cover letter.
1 patent pending and one more just applied for it.
The main thing is that my attorney submitted a cover letter that basically talks about all these. The cover letter is around 15 pages. It outlines first about my company and its reasecrh program and how my research work fits the company's goal strategically. Also my research is in an obscure field where not much work is being done. There are probably 6-7 researchers worldwide that work in my area. I stressed this out well on the recommendation letters.
I think it kind of makes sense that the cover letter is the Key. More so in my case as it was premium processing. I doubt they have the time to go over every documentation you submitted. I hope this helps. Good luck to everyone.
