I-140/EAD/485 receipt dates and notice dates

Hi,

My lawyer sybmitted (INS Calif) my I-140/EAD/485 about four weeks ago, but we did not get any kind of response back regarding the application receipts, my lawyer said If my checks (to INS) are cleared then the back of the check would have the receipt numbers and we will also receive receipts in mail, apparently none of them still happened, now I am starting to doubt if my lawyer as successfully submitted the documents or did the INS successfully received it.

Is there any way I can find out the status of my application.?

Is it normal nowadays that the INS is taking more than 4 weeks just to send the receipt or some kind of confirmation that they recevied the application documents?

Please advice.

Hi,
If your check is not yet cleared, it means that they have not recd. your application. they are usually prompt (about a week) in sending the receipt notice.
