I applied for I-140 with CP and I got my receipt notice. Is there any proof to find out whether my case is going for CP or not.
Thanx in advance

You will know it only when I-140 is approved.

Yes! You will see this in your I-140 petition. If you have the copy of the I-140 petition, on Page # 2,

Under Part 4 : Processsing Information:

There are 2 check boxes:

1) The person named in part 3 is now in the US and an application to adjust status to permanent resident will be filed if the petition is approved.

2) If the petition is approved, and the person named in part 3 wishes to apply for an immigrant visa abroad, complete the following for that person:

Country of Nationality: XXXXXXXX

Country of current residence, if now in US, last permanent address abroad : ( your country )

Your address in that country : XXXXXXXXXXXX

The path you have taken depends on which of these boxes you have ticked.

Hope this helps!

INS sometimes ignores what is indicated on I-140. Requests for CP have been processed as AOS and vice versa. Only way you can be sure is when you get your approval notice.

The above are exceptions.

Normally INS handles the 3rd stage
as mentioned in the I-140 petition!
