I-140 change of employers, go back to previous employer

worked for company S for 2 yrs and got LC approved, filed for 1-140.
recently changed to company through H1 transfer.
Can I go back to Company S after Company S has the approved I-140 (will not revoke.) and continue the Gc process? :confused:
 
To my understanding, Yes, it can be done, as long as the first company is OK with it, and as long as the same job function is maintained.

I am looking for similar information from others as well.
