I-140 Approved waiting for EB2 PD march'08

EB2Candidate

New Member
Hi,

My I-140 is approved and I am waiting for priority date to be March 2008 so that I am able to file my I-485 application in EB2 category. I am also running in my sixth year of H1B now.

Lately read through various websites including USCIS and it seems projected EB2 clearance is more than 10 years, it could be 15 years also. This is really a long time to remain in the similar job and with the same company.

If current employer is getting difficult to work with before I could file for I-485(based on Priority Date) can I change employer?

With the current market condition I am also worried about the lay offs and not sure how it will affect me.
Given that I am already in 6th year of H1B, If I get laid off in 2010 can I legally apply for a job in US or I have to take atleast 1 year break away from US and start from scratch again?

What are the options for above scenarios. I heard there is certain procedure to do it, but not clear what it is and what all needs to be taken care of.

Thanks and Regards,
RG
