I-140 RFE Oct/7/2003 for Educational Evaluation
By god's grace, got I-140 approved on 11/19/2003!

I-1485 ND Oct/2/2002
1st EAD - AD 12/11/2002
Renewal EAD - self applied - AD 10/10/2003
AP approved - 10/10/2003

To those who are interested to know about my case, read below. The rest can ignore.

1. In 1997, got the first Labor certification approved and I-140 approved in 3 months. Since I-485 dates were almost 3-years behind, I quit the shaky company in June/1999

2. The second employer's attorney (useless one in NY) applied labor with BS in Comp. Science as the only needed qualification, and I got I-140 EB2 (then became EB3) rejected after about 2-1/2 yrs in Nov/2001, with RFE to prove that my educational qualification was equivalent to BS in Comp Sc. without taking professional experience in to account. I could not get such an evaluation.

3. Joined 3rd employer in Dec/2001 with that glimmer of hope that I could file my I-1485 before my H1B expires in April/2003. Spoke to the attorney in clear terms, and Got the labor approved with BS in Comp Science or Engineering as needed qualifications, in RIR in 3 months. Then applied for I-140 in July/2002, and then came pleasant surprise of concurrent filing and I applied for I-485/EAD.

Now, I passed AMIE (India) in 3 years in Mech Engg., and ME in Mech Engg. So the RFE was issued (on Oct/7/2003) this time, for educational evaluation to be done without professional experience, and I got it done through MEI Services, and ICE (International Credential Evalutors), stating that the AMIE is equivalent to 4-yr BS program in Mech. Engg, and ME equivalent to 2-yr MS in Mech Engg. and the RFE was received on Nov/3/2003. God's grace, I got the I-140 approval yesterday, through the online status.

I hope these is informative to all those waiting and all those who are in the process of applying for GC. A blunder made by the attorney in the beginning of the GC process could get us out of this place easily.

Good luck to all of you and wish all of you get the GC at the earliest!

:D

Congratulations!
