I-140 Approved and Last Year of 2nd H1B- Changing Job Issues

Hello,

I have I-140 approved from current company where I am working for 6 years now, I am on my last year of 2nd H1B and want to change my current company as they have filed my GC in EB3 category. Is is safe to change my company now? or would you suggest me to get new H1B approved first from current company and then look for new job. ( I am due to file my new H1B in April 2013)

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I-140 filed by your current employer should continue to be in approval mode. Should they decide to withdraw or revoke you cannot get benefit of 7th year H-1B with current employer or new employer.
