I recieved my I-140 approval through labor today. it says petitioner has indicated he will adjust status in USA even though we had clearly stated consular process at chennai in the I-140 form. what a mess.
Also there is no Alien number on the approval notice.

what should I do now. how to correct it back to consular processing. I-824?.

anjana,

The best is to talk to your lawyer to work in out with your service center.

I don't believe there's a alien no. assinged yet.

service center will not do anything about it. they'll put it on the que and get to it in 1-2 years. your best bet is to try AC I-140. Send it to chennai directly bypassing NVC.

thanks,
I thought chennai consulate does not permit AC-I140.
Is there any body who has done AC140 at chennai.

I am assuming this is the same procedure as for P.D. mistake correction which I went thru. Please have your lawyers send a mail to them. You can put a heading as "Emergencies arising after approval" - this is what the cust. service guys tell. Typically they say about 45-60 days.

thanks vu2vut,

Meanwhile my previous I-140 and I-485 that were denied, after appeal I-140 was reopened.few days ago reopened I-140 was approved and I-1485 was reopened. now I have two I-140s.

So I am in a dilemma wether I should persue CP with one of this I-140 or since the reopened previous case is moving fast should I just wait and see.

very confused,
any opinions appreciated

Which is your Service Center?

VSC is definitely moving faster on 485s as well.

Perhaps you should just wait and see the result of your earlier petition.

Because it has been re-opened,your next post might be that your 485 has been approved if it falls within range of the processing dates.

Hang on there - my personal opinion.
