I-140 and CP question

After LC, I plan to file I-140 and then CP. Upto which point can I leave the company while my company can still sponsor me for CP? I understand I will later on need an offer letter from my current employer.

If any guru can shed some light here, I would greatly appreciate it.

Theoratically, since GC is for a future job, you can leave at any time. Provided they give you an offer letter when reqd.
