I am in the I485 stage for 2 months now. My company has changed its name.
My I140 was done in VSC and AOS is being done in CSC. I guess we have to file for I140 amendment now.
1. The question is do we have to inform CSC that we have filed for I140 amendment or just sit quietly and provide them the required information only if an RFE is raised.
2. Is this kind of situation addressed in 180days rule ?
Will appreciate some help on the above issue.
Thanks

If everything is the same

like Tax ID#, ownership etc., my take is that you do not have to file an amendment. If those aspects have changed, you probably should file an amendment - check with your attorney for sure.
The 180 day rule is still somewhat grey.
Good luck.

Talked to Lawyer today and he said we donot need to file I140 amendement and will be Ok if we get an

I donot know whether to trust him on this coz he is not filing I140 amendment for anyone.

I filed I-140 Amendment recently

My lawyer told its not necessary according to current rules but he suggested me to do it. who knows how the rules going to be tomorrow..
There is no INS fee.. some lawyers charging fee for this others not.. but my lawyer charged fee for filing I-140 Amendment.
My I-140 Approved 2 weekes back. One week back I filed I-140 Amenment. Next week I am filing I-485.. So you can process all applications in parallel. Once they get receipt notice for I-140 Amendment they will send to INS-485 section.
