Folks

I have an urgent I 134 question. My interview is on Feb 15 and my marriage is on Feb 10 and I leaving for India on Feb 5. I have the I 134 filled up but I dont think I can get it notarized from an American notary before I leave as my marriage hasnt happened yet. Do you know if its ok with the US consulate if I get I 134 notarized by an Indian notary after my marriage and before the interview??

Please let me know

Thanks

Just step into Mail boxes etc and get it notarized.

It would take 10 min, $10. It is not that complicated.

That should suffice....

Yes,
Take your Marriage Certificate and that will be enough. Keep a copy of I-134 but They some time dont take the 134 for Emp based cases

I 134 Notarization

Patta Hara, what do you mean they dont take I 134 for emp based cases? I thought that was the standar.

Nitin140, can I get it notarized during my interview at the consulate or should I get it on an earlier date??

Abu_layfa, I cant go to Mailboxes etc as I wont be married until I reach India and hence wont have a Marriage certificate till then also..

Thanks

Saching,
The way I understand any notarized doc. is notary only certifies that the person who signs the letter is the person who put his or her name as a sponsorer. They do not care about the content of the letter because they are not liable for any matter you put on the document. For example when I notarized my I 134 for my wife notary didn\'t check any financial doc to verify the amount I put in I 134 nor ask for any marriage certificate. Only thing she asked me is my photo ID that proves that person who signs the letter is the name you put on the first page. So don\'t worry. Walk in to your bank. Each bank has a notary. Just tell notary that you want to notarize I 134. I am sure you won\'t have any problem.

The consular officer returned my wife\'s I-134

saying she does not need it.

What I had said was "They dont take it sometimes"
