I-131 Part 7 - Qualifying for Advance Parole

Hi,

I am filling out I-131. V. straightforward, except that I am not certain what to write on the separate sheet of paper to explain how I qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance of advance parole. Here is my proposed text: -
" I am applying for Advance Parole since I am a citizen of the United Kingdom and may need to travel to that country (or other countries) to visit immediate relatives. I also have a property in London, United Kingdom, that is currently occupied by a tenant. I need to make periodic trips to this property for the purposes of maintenance, etc."

Is this OK? Do I need to add / alter any part of it?

Thanks,

Will C

you qualify due to your pending AOS application.

be more specific on the letter.

you need an actual set of plans on the letter.

make up something like someone is getting married and you are planning to attend.

Thanks

One question, tho': -

Would they not ask to see an invitation or some other evidence that I needed to be there?

I am applying for AOS on the basis of marriage to a U.S. citizen, so I don't anticipate any issues - just want to ensure that I get everything right first time!

Will,

Your letter is good enough. Do not make up any stories.
The explanation you have to write for your AP is just a formality.
I don’t know anybody who didn’t get AP after properly applying.
Send a copy of your marriage license, copy of I-485 receipt along
with I-131 application , two photographs and the check.
You should be fine.

All I said on mine is that i was going to travel for 3 weeks to see relatives who I had not seen in 2 years. Everything was approved.

right

short, simple and to the point.

that's all it needs to say

they just need a reason why you are going.

In fact, if you read carefully the most current I-131 instructions regarding applying for AP based on AOS, you don't even need such a letter. Most people include one anyway just to be safe, though.
