In my case, the EAD was sent to me while the separate EAD approval notice was sent to my attorney. The AP consists of 2 or 3 original documents, and they are either sent to the lawyer or the applicant. In my case I got 3 pages (it really doesn't matter if you get 2 or 3) and they went to my lawyer, who sent them to me. It's not possible to have a courtesy copy of the actual document because it is an official document. Only receipts or approval notices (that are separate from the actual document) can have courtesy copies, and that usually depends on the whims of the adjudicators. In my case, receipts were sent only to my lawyer, the EAD to me, and the AP to my lawyer - there were no courtesy copies of anything for me!
