I am a USC and i submitted an I 130 for my spouse and got the receipt number at 9/23/2006. My wife is overseas i was just wondering how long would it be before she can get approved and come here. I submitted my application to Vermont Center. I hope i gave all the necessary information to get an answer. It is just too hard to be apart from my wife. Please help. :)

Thank you for your response. But i never filed i-129F . So Is K-3 Visa = I-130?

I'm in the same boat as you I file for I130 fo my Husband who is overseas as well and i got my reciept # November 9th. I have heard the process takes about 6 months. What i'm not sure is when you file the K3. I'm not sure if it is after the aproval of the I-130.

My sister, a USC, filed I-130 for my other sister who lives overseas back in May of 2003. At that time my sister used to live in DC and couple of years ago she moved to Michigan. When she moved, she called the 800-misinformation and she was told to keep her case @ the VCS and to only update the address so that the case does not get moved the NCS but rather stays at VCS w/ a Michigan Address. I was just checking the case status online and noticed that the Vermont processing time for I-130 (for a borther/sister) is 10/07/2006. My sister has not recieved anything from USCIS regarding this case. So to me it sounds like the case is outside processing time.... We're also confused bc about a month ago VCS processing was still in 2000 or 01 and in about 1 month it jumped to 2006. Has anyone w/ a similar time frame received a letter from VCS? Thank you for the help

According to recent Uscis regulations, Uscis will not approve any I-130 unless visa number is available. Visa number in your sister's category are available for I-130's which were filed before 01 December 1995. I am not sure which country you belong to but it will take probably more then 10 years before your sister can come here. You can look at recent visa bulletin http://www.immigration.com/newsletter/2006-12.html
