I-130, updation of status

Hi,
My wife filed i130 for me in Jan 2002 (status is pending), I came to US on h1 after that. she became USC last month, i want to know whether i can file 485 now or i have to wait until my 130 got approved. How can i intimate INS about my wife status change.
