I-130 transfer

Hello All,

I filed an I-130 for my wife at the Texas service center. This center seems to be the slowest of all ( wait times like 3 years ! ). I checked the processing times and saw that California center is relatively faster ( ~1 year wait time ). I wouldn't mind moving to CA if it can help process my wife's application faster.

Can anyone share their experiences ?

If I request for the transfer of I-130 from TX to CA will my wife's application be processed in the order in which it was received or what ?

Thanks,

Re:

I'm a green card holder and NOT a USC. So you can understand my plight :(
Anyways I would like to know if moving from TX to CA can help speeden my wife's I-130.

Thanks

Re:

Well, but then it doesn't matter. She can't file an I-485, anyway, until the PD becomes current

The PD field in the I-130 receipt notice is empty  Now ,What does that mean

So, you would just have an approved I-130 on file, and would still wait. An approved I-130 does not give the beneficiary any immigration rights.

Confused  Assuming that I get do get a PD, suppose I moved to CA and since the processing time is less in CA , will the PD change ?

Once I-130 is approved , I-485 can be applied immediately if the person is already in the US ,right ?

If I get the I-130 approved sooner then I can apply for I-485 to get the green card. So me moving to CA from TX still helps, right ?

Thanks

I am in a similar situation - I have my GC and am going to apply for my husband who is on H1.

I wanted to know if I apply from CA - (given that even if his case is approved he cannot apply for I-485 until his PD is current) will he be given a work permit between the time Frame?

Any thoughts?
