I filed I-130 & I-485 concurrently and received a request for evidence
i-130(07/16/2007).
My Birth certificate has spelling mistakes. I did submit two supporting affidavits with birth certificates. (This is what i did when i applied for my green card long time ago)

Here is the text from RFE.

Name Difference : Submit documentary evidence to establish that my current name and the name spelled on the birth document are the same person. The most persuasive evidence is photo identification in each name. If the last name is different due to marriage, submit a copy of the marriage certificate. Affidavits will not be considered primary evidence.

Any help would be really appreciated.

All my documents from india has the correct spelling. It does not match my birth certificate spelling.

Thanks

If so, then they should show the correct name and the correct date, matching the correct date and incorrect name in the birth certificate.

Gather documents that show that, picture IDs and such and send copies, along with a letter explaining.

Can't you get your folks back in India to get you a new brith certificate? I'd send the old one by DHL and hopefully within 3 weeks, they could send you back a new and corrected copy. I think thats the best way out.

Then you could explain the rest to USCIS.

What is the procedure for correcting the name what are all the documents they need for that? I tried with

This I-130 is for sponsoring green card for my mother.
