I have one more question for you veterans.I had to put it separately because no one answered it in the other forum.
Form I 130:
Q 22. Complete the information below if your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status.
Your relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in:
City: ? State:?

Is it the specific city the alien resides in or is it the District Office assigned to that zip code?
Thanks for answering in advance.

Hmm, interesting. What I did is that I looked at the USCIS website for the offices that exist and picked one closest to me - which is practically 4hrs away. I reside in a city but it wasn't listed.

Thats what I thought. My city does not have a USCIS office so it should be the nearest DO.
Thats what I thought.

Question on form I-130

Section D, Item 2 on form I-130.

Have you ever before filed a petition for this or any other alien?
If "Yes," give name, place and date of filing and result.

I am now applying for my mother's AOS who is here in US. While filling out I-130 I came across this above question.

The concern that I have is, my wife's AOS is also pending. Her I-130 was approved last year but I-485 is still pending. How do I answer that question?

Ofcourse I will say "Yes", write my wife's name, date of filing.......but are they only concerned about her I-130 application or the whole package including I-485 application....beats me.

Gut logic: Since you're filling out an I-130, I would assume they are referring to only I-130 petitions. (since YOU [usc] file I-130 ON BEHALF of an alien. I485 is filed by the ALIEN themselves, based on an approved or concurrently filed I-130)

I am with you

I agree with you cent %. This is what I thought when I first read the question coz this question should be in connection with I-130 only, but one of the lawyers I called kinda confused me that you should write I-130 approved & I-485 pending, but what you're saying makes more sense. Thanks and lets see if others share their thoughts on this issue.
