I will like to know if its ok for me to file my adjustment of status case one at a time instead of in a pack and if so in which format or stages should it be filled.I am married to a USC.

Looki forward to hear from all you informed forumers.

Thanx.

I don't think I quite understand your question... but let me explain to you the process of becoming an LPR (Legal Permanent Resident) in US on the basis of being a spouse of a US Citizen and may be you yourself can fish out the answer you seek.

1. Your USC spouse will need to file I-130, along with 2 sets of G-325A (1 from you and one 1 from your spouse).
2. You will need to file AOS package - ie I-485 (filed by you), I-693 (your medical), I-864 (affidavit of support from your spouse) and another set of G-325A (only from you).
3. You may also file I-765 (work authorization).
4. You may also file I-131 (Advance Parole - to allow you to travel in and out of the country while your AOS is pending)

Now since your spouse is a USC, you guys can file 1, 2, 3 and 4 all together, or you may file these separately. However, all the forms in item 2 are mandatory and must be filed together failing which you will receive RFE from USCIS and your case would be delayed.

The item 3 and 4 are optional and can be filed along with item 2 or any time after item 2.

Hope this would help you understanding the AOS process and deciding how you want to go about it :)
