I 130 petitition approved, whats the next step?

This is regards to my husband , he is a mexican national and has been in this county for about 20 yrs, We have been married for about almost 7 years and we have a daughter. In 2001 i applied for the wife/finaccee petition and he was accepted. That is all , we have a lawyer but he doesnt help, he says that we have to wait until they extend the 245I in order to extend his Adjustment of Status. I was wondering if there is a possibly that this lawyer is not assisting us. My husband doesnt have anything, work permit, green card, nothing. Please advise and if you can recommend me to legal aid to get more assistance with a different lawyer/attorney that has legal aid, we really cant afford to pay a lawyer, we both are employed.

Please point me in the right direction. We really need help. :confused:

Are you a US citizen? Did your husband enter the US legally or illegally? If he entered legally, is he currently out of status? What year did he enter?

Once we have this info someone on the board should be able to let you know what to do next.
