My sister has filed I130 petition for green card for our mother from CA. Does anybody on this forum have any idea about the time frame for approval? The CA processing time is showing they are processing 3/26/02. My sister's petition, as per the online status check, was received on October '02. The message says it's taking 800+ days for this kind of application.
Anybody has any idea about the approx time frame? I would appreciate any input.

In what catogary she applied I-130, if it as immediate relative (spouse,parents,child < 20 years of citizen) the date you put is correct, but if as I-130 2(a) (spouse or parents of GC holder) it will take approximatley 5-6 years for I-130 to approve.

the category is I 130 immediare relative filed by US citizen. My question is if the message says 800 + days then why is the current processing date for CA center in this category March '02? If applications received on MArch '02 are being processed now then it's taking much less than 800 days right?
