I-130 Interview October 2006

I'm a USC and filed an I-130 for my wife last year. We had our interview in October 06. We were told at the end of the interview that they didn't see a reason not to approve us.

It is now October 07 and there has never been a response or approval letter sent from Immigration.

What would be the next step to take to find out status? Or what could possibly be holding the processing up?

Can you not check your case status online with your NOA on USCIS.gov?

Why didn't you file I-485 concurrently and I-765 with I-130?

Did you change address since 2006?
 
if you are a PR and you filed for you wifes i130, your i130 can be approved but then nothing will happen until a visa is available, so if thats the case you got a few more years, for the new rule now, they are not approving i130s until visa is current, if you are a us citizen, you should just go ahead and mail in the i485 and the rest of the stuff.

I think he is a USC.

OP you need to find out the status of your I-130 so that when you file I-485 and I-765, you can add the case number of I-130 to it and it will be prioritized.
 
I would recommend that you call USCIS and try and get information from them in regards to your case. If they don't have any info,then I would schedule an InfoPass session with the USCIS to find out your current situation.
