Hello everyone,

We are new to this site. We filed our papers to the lockbox on 11/28/05. Has anyone filed recently who can give us an estimate of the timeline and when to expect a receipt notice, FP notice...etc. :)

I also have a question, We file form I-864 with the application but my wife's income is below the required minimum. Does anyone know if they will ask for a joint sponsor now or will that be on the AOS interview day? Please advise.

Thanks all ...we look forward in being in touch

Get a joint sponsor now and submit it else you will get an RFE when your I-485 is processed, this will be before your interview. Also this will delay your EAD and AP app.

sending documents to USCIS without the RFE letter would be considered as unsolicited mail and would probably not make it to the case file. Suggestion is to get documents ready (with co-sponsor or using applicant's income) just in case an RFE is received. If RFE is not recived, then these updated affidavtis could be taken along to the AOS interview. As JohnnyCash pointed out in another post, it is ultimately the officer;s decision to accept what you submitted or to ask for more supporting documents.

I had realised I had sent my marrige lisense and not the marriage certificate and sent mine with the recipt number copy and they accepted it, however, they are still sending a RFE with the request for it. I called them and they said to ignore it but I will resend it with the letter just to make sure.
So I guess as long as you have a reference number you can send stuff and they will scan it.

Look under the Requests for Evidence section on this page...
http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/scnational/index.htm

NOTE: IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE LETTER REQUESTING EVIDENCE BE RETURNED WITH THE EVIDENCE AND THAT THE SPECIAL MAILING ENVELOPE PROVIDED BE USED. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DELAY PROCESSING OF THE CASE AND MAY RESULT IN A DENIAL DUE TO ABANDONMENT. Evidence submitted without the letter and/or proper return mailing envelope will be difficult to match up with the pending case and may be treated as general correspondence.

You should wait for your RFE letter before you send in any extra documents else you would keep sending documents that would not be matched up with your case files.
