Hello, I am new to this forum. I am a USC and I would like to file I-130 for my father. My parents were never married so I do not have a marriage certificate. All I have to prove relationship is my birth certificate with his name on it, letters from my primary care physician and school principal in my native country stating that he was an active parent. Will this be enough? Anyone else in same boat?
Also, my father is now married and has 2 daughters. The marriage took place after my 18th birthday so I know I cannot file for my stepmom but do I still need to submit a copy of their marriage certificate? Do I need to submit copies of my sisters' birth certificates? The reason I am asking is because the I-130 form asks to list the spouse and children of the relative that you are filing for and so I was not sure if they needed these documents as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
