I filed I-130 filing for my spouse who lives in India. I filed it in Vermont and today I got a notice I-797C saying your file has been tranferred to California center because the record indicates that office has jurisdiction over the case. What do they mean by this? What records are they talking about which indicates that the file has to be transferred to California? I live in Maryland. I have never lived in California. Please shed some light. Thanks for the help.
