Hi,

I am a green card holder for about 3 years. I recently got married in India and planning to file I-130 for spouse. Currently based on my residence, I have to file at VSC. But California service center is much faster for I-130 approval and it seems they are processing Jan 2005 cases while VSC is still at Feb 2003. I can change my job/residence to west coast. Is it advisable to do so to get the I-130 approved fast? Also should I have to wait at national Visa center to become my date current? I am not sure about the process at national visa center after i-130 approval. Please advice. Your help would be highly apprceiated.

Thanks

After your I 130 get approved, you will have to wait for visa # to be available. This whole process takes at least 3-4 years despite of your sevice center. Sice you are a GC holder for 3 years now, I would say it would be much faster if you become a citizen as soon as you finish 5 years residency requirment and then upgrade your case. Feel free to ask any Q.
