Can anyone help please...my husband received a notice that the I-130 that he had filed for me has been approved and I received two emails that my I-485 and I- 765 has been denied. I have not received the mail detailing the reasons for this but would appreciate any advice I can get. Does this mean I am in removal proceedings or what? My next move is to consult a experienced attorney to assist me with this case.

Wait for the denial notice to arrive in the mail, so you'll see the reason for denial. You are not in removal proceedings yet. Depending on the reason for denial, you may be able to file a Motion to Reopen or file a new I-485.

A few possible reasons include:
- Missing I-693 medical
- Your husband is not a US citizen, so you are not eligible to file I-130 and I-485 together
- Missing documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, your husband's naturalization certificate or US passport)
- You have a criminal history
- You entered the US illegally
- You left the US without Advance Parole
- Miscellaneous mistakes on the I-485 form
- They didn't receive the RFE, or it arrived at USCIS after the deadline

Thanks for your input...I am literally going through hoops right now to figure out whats wrong. I can rule out a few of the possible reasons but as cant do much until the notice arrives.

Will update.

Thanks again

I got the notice today and it states that I responded to the RFE however I failed to submit all supporting tax documents submitted by joint sponsor to the IRS. Now I am very confused because I submitted about 12 pages of tax documents twice to them so I really dont know what they are looking for. They also stated that I cannot appeal this decision but I can file a motion on for I-290B. Can you give me any advice...really appreciate it. Thanks

Maybe they misplaced the tax documents.

Get 3 years of tax transcripts from the IRS and file them with a Motion to Reopen (I-290B). Make sure to include a copy of the I-485 receipt and a copy of the denial notice with the MTR.
