I am a Canadian citizen of Indian origin. My mother is a US citizen, and filed for my green card, in 2001.

The I - 130 has been approved and I got a letter from the National Visa Center to pay the affidavit of support (AOS) fee plus the processing fee. I have paid the fees a couple of days back.

My questions:

1. What happens after this point, in terms of processing?

2. Approximately, when can I expect an interview call from the INS ?

3. What documents would I be required to submit at the interview?

Thanks in advance for your inputs, advice and opinions!

The next step is filing of DS -230 with original or certified documents, once those are filed and approved by NVC approximately 2 Weeks after you file you will get the appointment letter for the interview in the embassy or consulate, you will be required to do a medical and bring the results to the interview.
If everything goes smoothly I am thinking probably 3 months at the most from this point.

I'd like to thank you - namecheckvictim, for that reply.

My wife is likely to visit India for 3 or months. If she is not away when the the interview letter arrives, can I request INS to re-schedule it for a later date?

Thanks!
