I'm a citizen and my parents are in here in the usa on a 10yr multiple entry visitors visa(which is for 6months) Can I adjust their status while they are here in the usa? If the time runs past 6months can they stay over their time legally?

Yes you can file for adjustment of status. But be sure that you have a proof that when your parents passed their POE they don't have any intention to stay. Your parents need to show that there a powerful bond that ties them to your country, like house work, etc, etc. to prove that they don't intent to immigrate.
