Huge Difference in Processing Times

Hello,

My grandmother, a US citizen, filed for her 2 children (over 21 and married) in August of 2005.

We received a letter indicating that the files were received.

I am assuming that the PD is August, 2005.

The processing time for this category (F3?) in California is April, 2001.

Yet in Vermont, the processing date is March, 2006.

I am perplexed by this gap.

Any info to help would be appreciated and any info to expedite these file would also greatly help us.

Thank you!!!!

The processing times on USCIS website mean that they are processing the cases(files) which they received on that date. Once USCIS approves the petition the State Department issue an immigrant visa to the beneficiary and then only they can come into USA. There are other forms to fill too. The state dpartment can't issue a Visa untill PD is current that's where Visa bulletin comes into Play ( to check the PD is current or not). Moreover just recently USCIS has decided not to take a decision on any Visa Petiton unless PD is current. In your case it might take 7 years before there PD become current. Hopefully this helps you.
