The House bill, H.R. 4241, failed to include these important parts of the budget reconciliation legislation. Please support Sections 8001 and 8002 of S. 1932 in the conference process

The chance seem to be bleak. How does anybody convince the conference that section 8001 fits in with "budget". It seems to be "immigration" totally unrelated to "budget". But, I really hope our faxes and emails pull off some sort of miracle.

To make things worse, I see that many and many senators and other people don't understand well the distinction about the EB lack of visa numbers vs. H1B increase in numbers. Recently the President of NumbersUSA, an immigration control group, replied to my e-mail in which I told him that the EB visa numbers increase proposal was in place to remedy the problem of people affected by the cutoff dates imposed by the DOS. He seemed surprised by the cause and unaware of the problem.

We need to push some more, it gets frustrating, but let's fight !

I do not see where it says "failed to include these important parts of the budget reconciliation legislation" .

"11/18/2005: House Passed H.R. 4241 by Vote 217-215 at 01:41 a.m. Today

The House debated all night last night and finally passed this bill by hair-thin close vote of 217 yeas and 215 nays at close to 2 O'clock this morning without amendment for the immigration bills.
Read and help the immigration community's last minute effort "

The relation with "BUDGET" is Money $$$ because they will collect $500 for each recaptured EB Visas and H1b Visas (S.1932). On the other hand, the HR 4241 suggest only the L visa fee to be $1,500, but the fact is that there are a lot less L visas than EB and H1, so the $1,500 fee will be a lot less compared with whe recapture fees of S.1932.

I remember that Sen. Bryrd defeated ammendment in S.1932 proposed $1,500 L visa fee, contrary to the $750 proposed fee by saying that it doubles the revenues, but the fact that he did not understand is the BIG difference in visa numbers between H1 - EB and L.

Keep the faith

Guys i see a lot of Enthu from some ppl. Unfo i also see some drooping shoulders and hung necks. Common guys pull urselves together. This is a long battle and we are ALMOST there. Keep the intensity going and let's start with faxing the conference committee with a renewed sense of vigour! Keep the Faith guys.

GCdreamer2006, You are correct, we need to make fax letter simple as that of CONCORDE

Hi GCdreamer2006,

I think those people do not understand the difference in H1B and EB visa. Some one mentioned that we should remove word "visa" from the letter. Now the letter we are faxing should be very simple and we should take off/strike H1B mention. I think we should also change the draft as has posted by CONCORDE. The senator/ person should understand difference in H1B and EB , we should use term GREEN CARD/Employment based Permanent Residency.
Please request NATO and others to make changes in letter. I already posted to NAto and Concorde.

sections

Guys here is an option

We keep debating over whether to mention H1 or EB reforms. Why not just ask them to support "SEC. 8001. RECAPTURE OF UNUSED VISA NUMBERS" Or simply Section 8001/8002. That way we dont have to use our own "buzzwords".

What do you guys think?
