Hi,

How would one know if their application is stuck pending name check ?
I have been seeing some cases lately that seem to be stuck at name check.
Is there any forum thread that clearly says how one can determine if their case is stuck pending name check.
Can anybody please clarify ?

Thanks,

You send a email to FBI's NNCP (namecheck program) department ( fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov )
Give them your full name, A#, DOB and country of birth and ask them for your namecheck status (for the check intiated by USCIS)

You would have to wait for 6 MONTHS to get a response from them about this.

The other way is to initiate a inquiry with the congressman's office -- but since your RD/ND is not past the current dates, they won't do it for you.

How long it takes to know the FBI namecheck status by congressman's office.. same 6 months ?

Congressmen are normally faster than Senators, probably 2 weeks.

I-485 RD 12/16/2003. (EB2)

So, can I request Congressman in my area to find out the FBI Namecheck status ?

sure

You sure can. Ask your congressman to contact USCIS first to find out the status, AND, if pending on name check, find out since when?

Try both senators and your congressman.
