How will the political situation in India affect OCI/Process?

Even though I believe that almost universal support exists for OCI and PIO, I am worried that this might cause delays in OCI applications. What are your thoughts?

I don't think there is any risk to the OCI scheme itself. However, while there is political instability/uncertainty, babus may be distracted (or spend more of their time gossiping ) so the application processing might slow down.

The oci program was made possible by a law that was passed and I think it was a constitutional change(not sure). So the politics doesn't matter, at least it shouldn't.
